Has anyone tried Archive Creator V.3.0
I just decided to give it a try and from the first looks it is pretty sweet. I just archived 4500 images with html thumbnail index onto 3 DVDs in about an hour from start to finish. My hard drive was getting full so I had to make a decision.
I would love to hear if anyone else has any experience with this or other archiving solutions.

I have the old version 2.03 and it works nice.
I upgraded to the new version 3.04 and it would not work with my new Dual Layer DVD recorder. So I downloaded the Beta version 3.05b and it would not install.
I got a little burned and got a refund and will be looking for something better for file management and archiving.
Overall I think for the money they are charging you would be better off with IMatch or etc.

Just a comment, I would not recommend that the DVD be your only copy of those shots. That's high risk. Much better is to use a second internal or external hard drive as a backup of what's on your main drive, and the DVD as an additional safety system (preferrably stored off-site). All depends on how important retention of those images is.

Thanks for the comments. I looked at Imatch but I didnt see where it had the burning capability. Fritz: I agree about the offline/online backups. I am wondering just how much storage we will need in a home in the future. Right now I think the DVD will be ok. I have several 2.5" drives that I use but I still think about making a nice RAID structure or buying a Terabyte system outright. My concern is mostly the catalogging of images and being able to search on the exif data. Robin's notes on compatability are great to know. The latest version I have works with my standard DVD brner but I would be ticked if I bought a double-layer burner and it would not work with the software. As a note, I am still not sure about being able to search on EXIF through AC 3.0.1.
