First, have you tried the bulb blower? There are really big ones that blow a lot of air. Try that. Before you do, use the clean sensor feature to bring the mirror up while the lens if off the body. Next look through the viewfinder at bright light and see if you can see any spots on the viewfinder. If you do, then there is a dust on the sensor. There is also a thin glass in front of the actual sensor, so what you are cleaning is a thin piece of glass on top of the sensor (from what I've heard). There are products that basically look like dust brooms that work via chemicals and another one that works by static cling to remove the dust.
P.S. a photoshop has no incentive to help you b/c they can be liable if they damage the sensor cleaning it and the real cleaning stuff is not cheap to buy, it's like $15/brush or something like that. Use a very powerful air blower bulb first.
Good luck

Thanks for the help; I might do that, but I'd prefer to take it to the manufacturer if there is a problem. The guy at the shop couldn't even see an error, though *shrugs* so I'm actually not too worried about it... and it's coming to my understanding that a lot of cameras have 'hot spots' which is what most of the dots are seeming to turn out to be (especially the non-white ones)... So I'll probably just deal with it and run a filter to clean up the more annoying ones *shrugs*
