The sports reporter for our local paper and the cameras/lens's she has to choose from. Came down with a serious case of lens envy!!!!


Then she put it down!!!! I could've held it for her, borrowed it and had a play for a couple of days!! LOL

Ahhh...the joys of using newspaper owned equipment - I was watching a doco the other day, and this photog basically tossed his 1d markII and long range L-glass lens onto the ground - it actually bounced, and he didn't seem to care.

I was just thinking the same thing. If that was my equipment It would not be slinging around and in the grass. That's Lens abuse - Confiscate here lens....

EDIT: What is that big lens sitting face down? A 35-300mm Canon?

Did ask her Scott, but she was a bit preoccupied. Just said 300mm.

what a shame! she's not worthy! my lens will never see the ground like that... but oh well, she's not paying for those high priced equipment right?

The one standin on the ground is the 300/2.8 L, and from what I can see of the controls, it looks like the IS version. $3800 USD.
The one she's holding is the 70-200/2.8 L IS. $1650 USD.

at my newspaper we have contests to see who throw the d1H's farther like a frisbee(no we don't but it would be fun) they break all the time anyways...but yeah we got the nikon versions of those lenses ( minus the VR) .... if i can shmooze my editor enough i might get on the field for the illini football games this fall....though bein a rather new dude my chances arent the best, but one can hope.
