I'm a new Alamy contributor myself (and no sales so far).
I don't know why really but I'm going to split mine according to type - generic stock product shots - bottles, padlocks, tech (mice, cables etc) and so on I'll put as RF and the more unusual stuff (travel shots, more detailed wildlife and so no) I'm putting on as RM.
Not really a rhyme nor reason to it though so would be interested in thoughts from established Alamy members, particularly those with sales.

Mix it up a bit. If you have something you think is above your average definatly register it as a rights protected or a licenced.

Sorry Kavey I've just looked again at Alamy and there are 3 sections - RM, RF and L.....are you just ignoring the L section then?! Thanks for all advice!! |

No, the three choices are RF, RP and L. L and RP are both rights managed. |

As far as Alamy is concerned, RF is royalty free and both L and RP aren't, as nsbca says.
The difference between the two is that L is standard non-exclusive licensing and RP is exclusive licensing (higher price, obviously restricts repeated sales)
Here would be a good place to start.
