Sounds good, Zoomdak. Hopefully you'll be able to make it, and Perry too.
So, it looks like the 23rd is set, then? 11:00 at my house sound good to everyone?
I'll see what I can do about getting directions to everyone here in the next couple weeks.

Okay, here's the latest update for everyone. I emailed/PM'd it to everyone, but thought I'd post it in the thread as well, just so it doesn't die completely:

While trying to figure out this whole GTG thing, since it’s coming up in only 11 days (yay!) my parents and I have a question for y’all—the debate is either 1.) meeting at our house in Colton (an hour away from Silver Falls, see mapquest map here), barbequing here and then heading out to go shoot, or 2.) everyone meeting at Silver Falls at 11:30 or so, BBQing there and then being able to just go right out and shoot (not having to lose an hour to driving).

We had originally thought that meeting at the Falls would be the best/quickest/easiest way to do things—there are covered picnic areas available to reserve—but, unfortunately, they are all booked through next September sometime!

Soâ€Â¦we could still meet at the Falls, they do have picnic tables (not covered and fancy) available, we would just have to fight the crowds, because they are available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

So, we need your input! :) Here are your options again: Meet in Colton, lose an hour of driving time, but have a guaranteed lunch area (lol) or meet at the Falls and hope there̢۪s a spot open, but have an extra hour to shoot. If you could just email me or PM me back with what would work best, I̢۪ll try to get it all sorted out (hopefully before the night of the 22nd, hehe)

Thanks guys. I̢۪m really looking forward to this GTG, talk to everyone again soon!

Thanks for the e-mail Cristin. Unfortunately I will not be able to make the Oregon gathering.
Hope you all have fun!

Here's our latest plans, I emailed to everyone:

Hey there everyone—
Here are our plans for the GTG coming up on the 23rd.

Since I emailed everyone asking what would work better (falls or meeting at my house), it sounds like we̢۪ll be meeting at the Falls at noon. We̢۪ve decided that a picnic-type thing would work better than a BBQ, since we really have no guarantee of a spot, etc. So, my family will supply the main stuff (fried chicken & baked beans, most likely) and then if anyone would like, we could use someone to bring a potato salad (or macaroni salad, something all-American like that), chips and a beverage or two of some kind. If you could email me back if you̢۪d like to contribute something, then we could figure out exactly what all we̢۪ll need people to bring.

And regarding the shooting, here̢۪s what we were thinking: eat lunch around noon, finish up and get out to shoot whenever we̢۪re done (hehe), and then, if everyone̢۪s up to it, try to get to all 10 of the Falls before it gets dark. : ) So, we̢۪ll probably be there the majority of the day, unless ya̢۪ll just don̢۪t like the sound of that at all. And if you want two meals, you might want to pack a sack dinner because I have a feeling that getting to all 10 of the falls will take us a while. Probably through dinner time, but you never know.

So that̢۪s what we̢۪ve got planned out. Sound good to everyone? If ya̢۪ll could email me back if you̢۪ll be able to make it (haven̢۪t heard from a few people, so I̢۪m not exactly sure how many will be coming), that would be super great.

Okay, well, talk to everyone later! Can̢۪t wait to see everyone again/meet some new people! : )

See ya̢۪ll then,
Cristin Cline

I unfortunately will be unable to attend since I am now working 6 days a week....My boss is struggling to keep the shop manned and I need the cash for the EOS 10D/20D I'm saving up for he he :) Making 10 bucks an hour selling candy, getting a couple of overtime hours a week....not bad in my opinion....unless you want much of a social life (but meh, who needs that? Especially us photo-gophers [a new term I invented]).

Have a good one and someone, anyone, pull a blue ribbon out of it for tradition's sake, eh?

Hehe, I'll try my best to win a ribbon, Ryan, don't worry. lol

It's too bad you can't make it, though! :( Maybe next time? Cuz, of course, there HAS to be another one...It looks like we've got Mick and Becky, my parents and I, and Brian (ourwebstop) who'll be there. Not sure if Thomas will be able to make it now...? Maybe his mom could drive him, I don't know...And Perry was supposed to be back from Alaska the 24th, so he probably won't be there, either.

Well, at any rate, we'll have a pretty small gathering this time, but ah well, maybe everyone will be able to make it next time.

It will be fun to meet a couple new people (this time), and hang out with Mick and Becky again. :)

I'm looking forward to it. My buddy Ramesh is coming with us too. We've lived here for about 13 years and have never been to Silver Falls. He's from India and he's been there several times. Guess I need to get out more often. :)

LOL Mick! :) Don't worry, we've lived in Portland/Colton for...a long time, (4 years?) and we've only been there once, hehe.
It'll be good to see yall again, and meet your friend, too!

LATEST NEWS--
I'll email this around as well, but it looks like we're going to have to cancel the GTG this Saturday. My mom says that she'd like to wait until more people can make it, because she can only get a babysitter for 5 kids so many times. :)
So we'll have to reschedule, sorry guys! Maybe sometime mid to late-August?

No problem Cristin. We'll do it when the time is right. This will actually work out better for us anyway. It'll give Becky time to learn how to use her new camera. :)
