hello all!
im relatively new to this forum (and actually photography). just wondering if you guys have the time to check out my photos. here's the link.

The parrot picture is quite stunning though I probably wouldn't have chosen such a shallow DOF as I think the parrots in the background add to the image. As they are they are almost just blobs of colour. Slightly more DOF (but keeping the background birds out of focus) would add definition to the background birds and add dimension to the picture.

well you have an impressive portfolio if you say you are new to photography, some of those pictures are actually ribbon worthy imo

Yep, I agree. You have a keen eye and impressive photos for someone who is "New" to photography. I'd say you have an especially good knack for landscapes/cityscapes/seascapes. Those are the ones that stood out to me the most. The first one of the Yacht club is beautitul. One thing to watch that I noticed in a couple are your horizons. Looked like some might have been just a slight bit tilted maybe. But I have a hard time eyeing that stuff sometimes so I could be wrong. :-) You seem to be well on your way. Look forward to seeing more. :-D

Hey...what are u talking about. I am quite new to photography too. You can learn a lot thru' entering challenge =) People here will give you really good advise for improving your skills. Remember 'challenge, not threat' |

thank you guys for the encouraging words.
but after seeing the great works of some of the photogs here, i cant help but be overwhelmed and think that i still need to practice more :)
hopefully in the next set/batch of challenges.
