Hi all,
firstly I hope this is the correct area for this thread - actually not a thread as such.
Secondly I hope I'm not repeating something that's already appeared here before, if so then just regard this as a reminder...

The BBC are running a competition, A PICTURE OF BRITAIN with 3 categorys, URBAN, RURAL and HUMAN

Even if you don't want to submit to the competiton (or can not) then it's a damn good gallery to look at anyway...

jc

oh, theres also some great useful tips from Tom Ang

I entered this and had one of my photos used as an example in one of the "how to" programmes they show on TV :)

Did anyone see the digital picture of Britain on the TV that accompanied the picture of Britain series? For those of you that didn't: 3 pro's who use film were kitted out with either 1) a mobile phone camera 2) a digital P&S camera or 3) a full pro digital camera. Like atomicshed said, they had to take pictures of the three categories for different regions of the UK. It was interesting to see how they found the digital setup, although I must admit I wasn't too impressed with the majority of photos they took!

BTW: well done Konador!

I watched one of the programmes. Its was interesting that they took 3 leading photogs and gave them a camera they were completely unfamiliar with. What interested me is that they learned to work with the cameras limits and did not worry that it could not do this or that. The end results, the photographs, were interesting but nothing special.

yeah i would recommend the bbc 4 program on TV really interesting and 're-invigerated' my photography
Kondor, (after looking for your real name on your websiet) had a look at the photos you entered, really good I love the snow tree pic
I've got a couple of pics I took when I was in regents park, unfortunatly 1 was disqualified (it was a pic of the sky and the traffic above the landscape) which was a shame as it was meant to be with one of just the grass...

Mike, yeah I liked the format of the series what it comes down too is you should be able to make a striking image with whatever tool you've got - hey my first camera was a pin hole camera i made at primary school!
