I'll be getting my Canon 50mm f1.8 on the 20th and wanted to revisit the aquarium. I went there recently to check out my new Tamron 17-35 Di, but it was a bit short and slow, which forced me to get the "thrify fifty."

Here is a link to my pics from the last time.

Let me know if anyone wants to join in on the fun.

I'll be there on Saturday and on Sunday, plan on going to the AVP volleyball tournament at Hermosa Beach if I can get another to join. Courside seats are $25.
Let me know if anyone is interested.

If you change your mind about Saturday, you can join me at Six Flags (not really for photos, just for fun). We are going to ride rides, eat food, have a happy day as an early birthday get-together for me. You are totally invited. In fact, I'll cross post...

Hey Arie,
Happy B-day. I've promised to be at the aquarium on Saturday so I won't be able to make it. Have fun there.

Happy B-day Arie! I wont be able to make it on Saturday because I have previous plans. I hope you have a great time at Six Flags!

yida, I was planning on going to the AVP volleyball tournament at Hermosa Beach on Sunday. How would I get the courtside tickets?

goto the AVP site on the web. //www.avp.com/
You can buy court side tix there for $25. Private e-mail me if you do. I want to buy one too and go, if I can go with another photog. I don't plan on going there by myself and look like a perv or nothing. If two show up with big lens and cameras, it seems ok. One like that tends to look like a perv. :)

Happy Birthday, Arie! I can't make it either as I'll be in Florida. Have a great time at Magic Mountain though!

As for this weekend, I'll also be in Florida.

Hey guys, do you want to redo Queen Mary? There are some things I'd like to reshoot, especially since I've a Tamron 17-35 and will soon have a 50mm f1.8 for low light photos. Plus some have free tickets as well.

Well, I'm uploading the new pics to my webpage. I didn't get the 50mm f1.8 in time, so I resorted to using mainly my 28-135 IS with the IS on but it doesn't help much if the fish are moving. You need about 1/200 to catch a moving fish it seems. So the ISO was cranked up. I went with two guys from a Yahoo group LAdSLR and we got a free behind the scenes tour which was really cool.
