I just downloaded the PhotoKit Sharpener plugin, and must say I'm impressed with the results. Unlike USM, it seems to find the part that needs sharpening more intelligently. Also, it gives the option of sharpening "masks", so you can selectively brush in/out the parts you want sharpened. Everything it does is non-destructive. Little spendy for a single plugin at $99, but it might be worth it.

Yep, that's the one. I've been playing with it some more. The range of abilities in that one plugin is amazing. I'm going to buy it. |

Hmm, I downloaded the try version of this for my Mac, and I cant get it to work. Photoshop says its either the wrong type of document or that it doesnt support it or something... any suggestions?? |

Sounds like it's similar to Smart Sharpen in Photoshop CS2. I would imagine that it's not legal for basic editing challenges though since it's selective as to where it applied.
For advanced editing challenges or other uses it looks like it could be very useful.
