okay, so i've been reading a lot into stock photography lately with everyone's posts about it and all but I'm very new to all this and don't understand what stock photography is really. You just post your images and people pay to download them? I'm assuming the photographer gets a portion of the money? These are probably horribly stupid questions haha but I'm very curious. Thanks!

Yup.There are so call micro-sites which pays you a small amount but potentially more downloads. This may not require the largest files. There are sites that will offer you more money, but much less downloads. These may require huge files though.

Really depends on your images on which ones to select. If you have rare type photos you can potentially make more on higher priced stock sites. If you have lots of everyday or blah photos like me :) you can use the microsites (all stocks are taken with my 3 megapixel cameras).Planning on submitting to the higher price sites with my *ist soon.

Much debate on this subject. The most important thing is reading the FAQ from the particular site that you are interested in before signing up.
