I am finding that I am using B&W more and more for my pics. Is there any specific software out there that offers more control/effectiveness than PS for converting/working on B&W or is PS just as good as anything else?
Also, any specific PS plug-ins?
Thanks

Fred Miranda has a pretty cool B&W Workflow plugin. |

The one that MK pointed out looks pretty cool!
But, if you want something a little cheaper (free), albeit with fewer options, BW Plus is at least worth a look. You can find it here: //www.cybia.co.uk/bwplus.htm
Disclaimer: I don't use Photoshop, so don't really know it's capabilities. Hopefully, I haven't wasted your time.

The best I have found is just an action written by DigiDaan
There is a great tutorial on Retouch Pro, about the different ways and a link to DigiDaan's action. Plus it is free. Very adjustable to youyr tastes.

Nik Filter set is awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwesome. I can't recommend it enough - there are at least 5 different ways to make b/w pictures in Nik (it's a photoshop plugin).

I use Johny's B&W action (and his others) and they were free. I believe this is the site, however it looks like you have to register to access them now. They are great actions though.
