Don't you remember I cured my addiction to Oprah by substituting DPC??
We're having sweet and sour chicken (homemade) for dinner and chocolate cake for dessert.
Take out the trash and I'll even fix you a martini...

Ah, sweet! Remember, shaken, not stirred. And do me a favour and put on that Saran-wrap outfit.

As far as hating by boss, I don't. I am the boss. The owner of the fitness club is my mother-in-law. She is a great to work for.

Working amongst women, working-out! Hummm, that sounds interesting!
LoL

I dunno, I roomed with four women when I was going to university. One of my most vivid memories was how their womenly cycles synchorized, and I came home one day to find that the dog had raided the bathroom garbage. I immediately turned around and went back to school.
:-O

That was a smart move! Try being around 700 women every week and half of them are going through menapause!!!!!!!

I've only been at my current job for about a month now so I don't hate it yet, although they block pretty much every site on the internet, including DPC, so I'm feeling quite oppressed!

My last job, which will now only be part-time, that was a doozy. I worked with three "retired" men who were used to having secretaries. Two of them refuse to touch computers. They can't type. They will now check email but call me to respond or fax things over to me. And everything needs to be done RIGHT NOW or preferably, YESTERDAY. The problem with working from home is that people think you don't have work hours - you're just available every minute of the day.

Oops, I didn't mean to go on!

I hate my damn job. I have an associates degree in music and communications which means I work in sales. cell phone sales. I like the company I work for, but we are privately owned which means we are a slave to the wireless carriers. The carrier reps don't know what the ef they are doing and they make my life a living hell. Okay, I won't hold back. NEXTEL MAKES MY LIFE A LIVING HELL!!!!! NEXTEL CHIRPIE CHIRPDITTY DOO DOO makes me a miserable ef. I have tried to find other careers, but nothing seems to pay what I make in sales, at least anything that I'm qualified for on paper. Oh sure, I could teach music. Blah. I could survive on less money, but I'm still climbing out of debt because I wasn't always so smart with my money.

I think I'd just leave the idiot to sink himself. If you work in Upper NH or Vermont I'll come work with you.

As for working in a hotel...I loved working in the hotel (I just hated the manager).

Currently I hate my job (but then I don't have one). I WANT, no NEED a job. All my bills are coming due and there's no money to pay them. Not much I can do about it, so I'm not stressing too badly, just wish I didn't have to incur all sorts of late fees.

Well Nathan the more i listen to him the more he is going to sink himself he's a really stupid person and an ass kisser. I'd really just like to hit him. Don't live in Upper NH or Vermont but you could book it to Kansas and work:)

He's getting his but chewed in the next office by the type-setter . it's pretty funny, it's a losing battle with the two of them yelling

Heck, I don't even know where Kansas is.

I'd love a job at a newspaper. I tempted at one for a week, in the press room. It was interesting. I've had numerous photos printed in my old town, but I've only been in NH for about a month now and I don't even have a job at all.

Unless of course your newspaper will pay my moving expenses (and send me a map so I can find the state).

Do I hate my job sometimes?

Well, let me analyze the situation...

I smile and nod and say nice things all day to people who treat me like crap. I calm people down who are angry at me by being polite even though I feel like ramming a wrench down their throat. I take responsibility for not only my own screw-ups, but for other people as well and apologize for it, on average about three times a day.

Oh yeah...I definately hate my job. Maybe that's half of the reason I am how I am.

In case no one knows, I sell automotive parts and equipment to commercial garages...sometimes it's fun, but other times, it's down-right exhausting.

I got to the stage with my job that each morning I didn't want to turn into the car park but just carrying on driving. I was so stressed out that I just felt ill. I was sitting on a beautiful beach in Aruba last summer , worrying about work. I got home to a four page letter from my boss telling me what I should and shouldn't be doing which was cr** since I'm a professional and didn't need that, soo I went into work and wrote my resignation. I had to give a year's notice and I am just about to finish. I've got nothing to go to at present but I just have a feeling something will turn up and I know that I am going to not drop dead from stress. The last year has been so much better knowing that there was an end in sight and life will be fun again.

I made the decision there was more to living than work and am lucky enough not to have to worry about the children now and my husband will get his wife back. Yes I feel guilty because it means a HUGE drop in our income BUT at least I will be alive to enjoy living in poverty!!!!!:)

I like my job, but I don't love it. I work as a CT / Xray Tech at a hospital here. I like helping the patients, but some of the docs can be so damn arrogant, along with some of the nurses.
I hated working days simply because I hate working with a lot of people, mostly because I work hard and was watching the others sit on their butts and gripe. So, I switched to midnights where I am the only tech on duty for 90 percvent of my 12 hr shift. I have one aide who works with me in the department handling the office work and assisting with the transport of patients. It's a lot better than days, but means I have to work every weekend. grrr.

I would much rather work at a newspaper as a photographer but have no schooling for such and am still fairly new (4 yrs now) into photography.
Who knows - maybe with living in the boonies I could land a position some time in the future regardless of no schooling in the field.

I love my job. My bosses treat me with respect and leave me alone for the most part because they can't do my job. My job lets me use most of my education and at this point there is nothing I'd rather do. I have flexability with my schedule, I can come in late and leave early when ever I want, I get to be acting manager enough to where it's still fun, I have access to all sorts of way cool toys, and I know people capable of doing just about anything I could ever want done. Plus, I make things that blow other things up, so that's cool.

When I quit one of my jobs (that I really did enjoy but was too hard do with my full time job) they hired a supposed computer genius to replace me (totally not necessary). He impressed the manager because he had memorized over 1000 website addresses ... oh big fricken deal you idiot, name a company and I'm sure that is their website address lol. I had to train him and he wouldn't ever shut up, customers would bring jobs in and he would create or run them the way HE thought was best, no matter what the customer wanted.

I ended up coming back to them on a saturday only deal and had to work with him for a couple hours and all he would do was pass customers on to me then talk about how all my old customers would brag about me and wonder why no one liked him. I referred to him as the Village Idiot.

My favorite part was when he told me that when he was about 15-16 he did some totally beyond top secret work for a private agency higher than the CIA and he knew stuff that gave him nightmares but would probably be killed if he talked about them. He wanted to know what I'd do if I was him...under my breath I told him to tell...PLEASE tell! lol

I wish I could work there again, cause I loved the daily challenges and the ability to please customers-my current job is so boring and non challenging, but I'm afraid I'd kill him.

Good luck with YOUR village idiot, enjoy him while you can lol.

I really like my job, but it certainly has it's drawbacks. For my situation and skills, it's a perfect fit. I'm a Realtor. I have at times put in many hours with someone, and ended up with no pay at all (although that has decreased a lot over the years.) My job depends a great deal on making sure other people do their jobs right (inspectors, title companies, lenders, insurance agents, homeowners associations, cobrokers) and it's most stressful when other people aren't getting the job done, but I'M the one who has to relay that info to the client.

On the plus side, I work mostly from home, can schedule my time pretty much as I want to be able to do other things with my life, and the pay is good. I can also choose to NOT work with a client if I want, which is always nice. It's only happened twice in 8 years. One was a racist who swore she wasn't but turned down two perfect homes for her because the neighbors "aren't like me.", and the other one was a couple where the man was constantly verbally abusive to his pregnant wife. Nice to be able to refer them to someone else (with fair warining) and just pick up the referral check.
