everone drools over canon glass, but when it comes to uv filters it seems that people drool over multi coated hoya or B+W filters.

Are they much better than the canon uv filters. They are quite a bit more $$.

If canon makes L glass can't they make great filters?

There was a thread on DPC yesterday about cheap vs. expensive filters. I can't find it now, but there was a link to a site suggesting there is minimal quality difference in the results.
