If this is your first attempt at dodge, burn, and curves, I can hardly wait to see what greatness you can do in later attempts ... way to go!

It looks a bit heavy-handed, which most people do on their first few tries. A bit of practice will help you use this technique with more subtltey. The image is really sweet and I'm sure this family will appreciate it either way.

Good, except for the faces. As we learned in another thread. Better to overexpose than underexpose. Lighting up dark spots makes the image look rather grainy and noisy. Otherwise very good job

I'm not sure I totally agree with the faces part of this, having the faces barely in the light adds a quiet feel to the image. They are peeking in and not really being part of the image, just enough to see them and their loving looks. I may be totally off key and would have to see an alternate to be sure but I like this this way. Good first attempt, I'm just starting to use this stuff too.

edited to add...may need a small red level adjustment.

the colors are a bit icky in the 2nd one, i would convert it to b&w
