I contacted simonscameras.com and they gave me a better price than what was on the Website.

$2375.00 + Tax Canadian....Best price I can find!

Does anyone know what they are like to deal with?

I have not dealt with them ...

However, I'm just curious ... is this price with some kind of a lens kit? Because if it's just the 20D it seems a little expensive to me see examples below in regards to price.

Henry's - $1849.99CAD

The Camera Store - $1,699.95CAD (you only pay one tax here)

Vistek.ca - $1,799.00CAD

Camera Canada - $1,820.00 CDN

B&H Photo Video - $ 1,329.95 USD (x conversion 25% = $1,662.43 CND)

Are you referring to one of the kits? I'm looking at their website right now, and the 20D body is listed much cheaper than this.

I don't know anything about Canadian stores - but just wanted to help clarify what kit you were looking at :). B&H seems a bit cheaper for the body and lens separately, but not I'm sure how taxes work across country lines.

I have to pay 15% Taxes (I live in Newfoundland) I want to Shop Canadian, I don't want to deal with Customs!

I bought my EOS 10D from them and nothing but good service. I actually live 1hr from the store but got my purchase online in order to get a break on the Prov tax (i live in Ontario).

The store is actually a fixture in Montreal, been there forever. They are a legitimate camera store.

I would buy from them again without hesitation.

Not close to Any Border...I live in a mining town in Labrador which you have the drive Like 12 hours on Dirt road to get into Quebec!

Why?

Edited: Just realized that you're quite a ways from a US border. I was thinking you could come on over the border and be able to buy the camera for less. lol...had to google Newfoundland to see how far you were! :)

I've learned a lot more as I've grown older than I ever did in school...mainly because I was *cough* doing a lot of other things besides studying :) I've been wanting to take a trip up to Maine and to Nova Scotia but Troy thinks I'm crazy. He was born and raised here in FL, so he doesn't really get the 'cold' weather :)
