Some have wondered what my macro (From Another World) really was... a couple of people guessed, I think I left others scratching their heads. So...
Here's my macro entry:
And here are a couple of croppings from a little further away which let you see that the macro is an extreme close-up of a little round cactus plant about the size of a golf ball.

The white crystal-like object is a tiny white ball, about the size of a pinhead, at the base of each grouping of thorns.
I really liked the appearance of my shot (colors, angles, sharpness, the intrigue factor). It wasn't a bug... nor was it an obvious plant picture either. I really had hoped it would do better (got 5.941, but had hoped for at least 6+).
Oh well, next time I'm shooting a bug! :-)

It's an excellent photo David. IMHO, well deserving of a much better result in the challenge. I guess the voters just want to see more bugs. Anyway, congratulations on a wonderful image.
