Over the long weekend I drove down to my sister's home to take some headshots for her theater group. I wanted to do a few fun and funky ones. I did a little extra editing on this one to amuse me. Any thoughts?

Yes, no longer will her photo be overlooked on the board outside the theater entrance. :) |

hehe this is really good.......
it reminds me of something i've seen before in a stock cd catolog under abstract or humor........
really a great shot and job of editing.....
i would be intrusted to know...if u don't mind sharing......how u managed to put such a clean and natrual distortion on her face and eyes.......
actualy if u don't mind giving a small list of editing steps.....it would just be cool to know......
if u don't want to thats cool and if u don't mind just telling me u can always PM.........
but like i said it your image so if u don't want to thats cool.......
i think what ever u did u did it right this is a great pice of work........does she know????
if so what did she say whan she saw it?

I just got home yesterday and edited it last night. I sent it to her but she hasn't commented yet. I doubt she's home from work yet.
The original photograph was done with a 10D and Sigma 15-30mm set to 15mm and f5. It was taken outdoors on the shady side of the house in front of a large blue backdrop with the camera about six inches from her face. I had a silver reflector under her to fill in the neck and lower face. PS work involved some color correction, contrast bump, and removal of a blemish. Then I used the liquify tool to bloat her eyes, add a little definition to the chin, and the Forward Warp Tool to stretch her eyebrows up higher in the corners and stretch her smile slightly in the corners. I don't have exact numbers but except for the eyes the other manipulations were on the mild side. Final manipulations were to discard all layers except the green, burn the corners of the image, set to grayscale, scale, and sharpen. |
