Has anyone purchased anything from here before?www.cameracanada.com
Does anyone know if they are a good reputable dealer? Their prices are generally a bit lower than anyone elses, but haven't seen any reviews for them on ressellerratings.com
Thanks for any feedback :) |

A friend in a local camera club bought his Pentax *ist D from them and I believe a few other accessories. He didn't have anything bad to say. I have no personal experience though.

No I haven't purchased anything from them but I did use their super low price on the dRebel to take advantage of Futureshop's lowest price guarantee.

Thanks for the replies. Seems like a competitive place to buy from then. Not as worried now to purchase from them :). |

Did you purchase from them after?
If so how was it!
Did anyone else here buy from them?
Thanks

I'm pretty sure I have and don't recall any issues but this was all before I discovered www.bhphotovideo.com and will never look back.
With the conversion into CND and with shipping (USP Express... basically you get it the next day), I get better prices than anywhere in Canada ... so far. FYI

There is no Duty on Photographic equipment, I have never paid anything except the taxes when I receive the package. I know a few people that order from there all the time and they have never had any duty either however we all only use UPS EXPRESS as the shipping option.
I was looking for a forum from about 2-3 months ago with the same discussion that Corwyn and I posted into (and other Canadians) about duty and B&H and none of them every paid duty.
Maybe you will have more luck at finding that forum.
EX. Cameracanada.com has the 100mm f2.8 Macro Canon for about $720CND and that price of $720CND is very low already average everywhere around here for that lens is $800CND) ... B&H with say %25 conversion $587CND plus shipping which I would guess about $30CND
FYI

Like I pointed out I've only used UPS EXPRESS and all that you have to pay when you place the order is Item plus shipping and when it arrives only the taxes. I have never had any issues and have placed at least 10 separate orders.
In regards to Melissa not being from Toronto area ... they might charge a finders fee to find Newfoundland ;-) OK, I'm just kidding Melissa (since my sister married into the newfie bloodline I figured I got a free pass to newfie jokes ;-)
No hard feelings...
EDIT: Spelling ... doh

Yes, I purchased my XT body locally because of the price difference was miniscule however any lens around here are a lot more than B&H. Guess that all depends on what you are comparing.
Hmmmm, too many choices....
But I'll stick to what I have said and that's --- that I order my stuff from B&H and have saved hundreds compared to local stores and the fact that some even have to order items which I can get quicker in some cases from B&H.

Theres also //www.mcbaincamera.com
I haven't used them but their prices seem competitive. They're local here but to avoid parting with some cash I haven't ventured in.

Yes that is correct, I forgot to mention that I also order from here and have a few friends that order from here also, great service thecamerastore.com the main reason is that there is no provincial tax so you only pay one of them.
The website is not that great but I actually always deal with them over the phone because the have everything in their store. I've always gotten great service and they are pretty quick also. |

Alberta has no provincial sales tax and Mcbain has no store outside Alberta therefore is not required to charge PST.
