Taken in the fog, straight from camera.
This was taken by my brother in-law and he thinks it's fantastic, so I thought I would try some of your honest opinions on it I told him I would put it up for Critque
Thanks

Very nice. Definitely a keeper. :D

Some post-processing to bump the subtle detail may improve it somewhat.

very nice, although i think that's too much post processing. any processing on something like this would need to be subtle.

It appears to be slightly under exposed. A slight levels or curves adjustment should be able to take care of that.

If you have PS CS2 you can use the exposure adjustment.

If the original was shot in RAW format, make sure your brother-in-law works the levels in 16-bit mode and converts to 8-bit mode just before saving jpg. Helps a lot for smoother tone gradation.

The soft/subtle colors are nice, but I think it does need more in the way of contrast - it's hard to discern much from the original.

I like it. It's has a nice calming feel. A bit more detail/contrast would help. I also like it as a duotone.

Thanks for that! interesting!
I thought it looked rather flat myself, but that is just me, so I told him I would get some more professional opinions
Any more responses please

I did a quick adjustment with PS CS2 - exposure +.40, offset -1.3, highlights and shadows. I realize there are a lot of artifacts due to re-editing a jpg (as well as probably overdoing the pp).

the layers of the fog is too soft, cant really see much unless try really hard

I fiddled with it, too, and came to the conclusion that the posted image is not high enough quality to fiddle with without introducing TONS of artifacts. Neat image fixed most of them nicely, but I was left with the feeling that the original was really quite nice without all the fiddling.....
