Taken very late afternoon, we're in winter, so not a lot of light. Was trying to keep the focus on Bailey as she ran along the bank.
Cropped out some of the bottom as there was more of the concrete wall. Shutter speed 1/30, using the Sony 717 as the rebel's still with Mr Canon.
have problems getting the focus right.
thanks

Very nice panning... main things I would call attention to are that the background behind (and to the right of the dog) is too similar in colour to your subject. Also, the position of the subject in the frame seems haphazard... the dog would have worked better more to the left in your frame. |

Thanks Bob! I'll look out for a better location for the next take of this........she's always willing to be an action model LOL
Had another go at cropping the shot.

You appear to have a good background blur but if I understand you right, you are concerned about the blur on the dog itself as well. Since your background blur is quite fluid, you might be able to increase the shutter speed a bit and see if the results are better.
This reminds me of when I was using too slow of a shutter speed, trying to capture a shot like this of my girlfriend while she was sledding... and not getting it.. and then here doing a perfect one of me on accident (she said "well you were moving, so i was afraid it would miss you and had to keep moving it") with a faster shutter speed.

Thanks Brian, will try that when there's a bit more available light. These kind of shots look so fantastic when they're well done.
