Beautiful, shutterpug. Here are my others (previously shown here):

About 1/2 hour ago I was sitting in my La-Z-Boy, watching the evening news, and looked out at my birdfeeder, about 10 feet away and eye-level. There on top looking in my window was a chipmunk, and I though of this thread. Hopefully I'll get a few more pics tomorrow that will be worth posting.

Terrific shots everybody. I am from Kentucky and we call them ground squirrels. I spend hours in the woods and those guys are numerous. I've never got pics of them that good before, probably cause I hang out in the trees. LOL. Also, Troy, it looks like your red squirrel is what we call a fox squirrel. We also have gray squirrels, but no different name for them. Love this thread!

I believe ground squirrels are a different critter, but maybe related...

I'm not sure what the difference is, myself. This is a squirrel:

(I believe), but I'm not certain I immediately could tell the difference between him and a chipmunk. Seems the chipmunks are a little more "stripey" and have rounded ears. Past that, I really am not sure. Experts here?

They almost look like meercats.

I thought these were called prairie dogs. Could be wrong. The "ground squirrels " I referred to are striped and I am sure are actually chipmunks.

Another shot of a ground squirrel, they are small about 4-5 inches tall, don't have a bushy tail like a tree squirrel.
Here is a prairie dog, they are much bigger about 12 inches tall.
