Who has been to FIJI ??? - DPChallenge Forums

8 weeks and counting .......can't wait ! I'm taking my family to FIJI for 11 days and really looking forward to it. We are staying at the Shangri-la Fijian Resort on the coral coast. SO are there any fantastic photo locations that I shouldn't miss near here ??? I can't wait to photograph the people expecialy the kids, they are so photogenic !

sorry, i havent been there, but i am excited for you! of all the islands i have visited, fiji is my dream spot.

are you a diver? if not, it might be worth it to get a crash course in certification (most resorts have something you can do in a day) or even snorkling would be amazing (maybe better for pics since you wont need a flash)--so be sure to check out the local camera shop in town for inexpensive underwater camera rentals. if you do this, a bit of advice --be sure to get your pics developed there--as they will have a better idea of exposing for the vivid colors you will experience.)

all in all, have an incredible time...be sure to leave the resort and do as much exploring as you can...and bring back those pics! :)

No Alecica I've never dived but may even give it a go when I'm there. I know I'll be snorkelling a lot ! And yes I do intend on getting a underwater camera or like you said renting one , I'll certainly look into that option. I will definitely post some of my best pics when I return. Can't wait to get the camera out ........

Beautiful... any of the Fiji Islands. We stayed at Castaway Island. Very relaxing and if you are into scub diving there is a lot of premium dive location ... the food and people are just awesome. One of the main reasons we stayed there because of the dive club and other activities there.

Enjoy, you'll have a great time and bring a LOT of Memory Cards ;-)

PS: Since you're from Sydney... that's just a skip and jump away... I wish
