I'm running out of allotted space on my portfolio. DPC's fast becoming my favorite space for uploading images, and I hardly use my personal blog, pbase, etc anymore. Is there a way to "buy" more space for portfolios?

Unfortunately not at this point. It has been suggested more than once. An alternative is to review the file sizes and recompress to gain space. I did this once, recompressing down to <75k on each image, and gained tons of space. You give up little in quality on most photos, and if there are a few that you must keep larger, you won't lose that much. If you do this, remember you can upload a replacment for each image, no need to tank the whole lot and start over, losing comments and favorties in the process.

Nope - I've asked and was laughed out of town on it.
:)
Either view your image and save, then PS save for web and compress it a bit more and re-upload over old one,
or clean house like I have been doing the past few days.

ditto kirbic...as a rule of thumb, all my portfolio images are about 50kb, 600-640px for horiz, 525-600px for verts. i can't complain about the quality, and find that this gives me room for about 500 images (which is probably overkill...)

You must type faster than I do kirbic.

ditto this as well...and it's a heckuva lot easier now, being able to sort by views/comments/faves to see what people like to see and what they ignore.

Thanks folks. I reckon this might be a lost opportunity to gain more revenue for the site. I'd probably gladly pay US$35 or US$40 a year for a second tier membership, and twice the space on portfolio. I guess clean house it is...

You bet. Only problem is, I tossed many shots, some with up to 8 favs on them.
I keep what I like, favs or not, and toss the snapshots.
(just lost over 30 favs & a butt-load of comments in past 2 days too - sorry folks - I still have them saved though)
:)
