I'm trying to make that church stand straight, but I'm not sure which lines I am to pay attention to... everytime I rotate it it seems to be tilting..

help would be appreciated.

I would use the altar as your reference for straightness as that to me seems to be the horizon. The leading lines on the roof and the pillars are affected by perspective and will throw the straightness off.

The pews are another choice for straightening.

BTW, the image seems straight as posted.

I agree with cpanaioti about the altar.
Additionally, you can use the skew tool to minimalise some of that perspective.

I run into this all the time with my 28mm on my small zoom. A friend of mine pointed out in one of my shots that there were no straight lines, he also pointed out there's no such thing as a truly recti-linear lens. His point was if the lines aren't straight in your shot there's always some line that isn't going to feel right.

I pull the grid up on my shot in PS, and use the perspective/skew transforms to make my lines vertical, works great. I have been shooting lots of architecture for a client, actually one was the inside of a church, and this technique saved me.

hope that's helpful.

As a general rule, the verticles and horizontals closest to the center of your picture (before cropping) will be the truest.
