For some reason my ex boyfriend and a friend of his at work got bored one afternoon and they did the same thing and both wound up with frostbite and scars. Did I mention severe infections as well? Dumbasses.
There's also problems in schools with kids inhaling the compressed 'air' for the high not realizing the brain damage it causes. One boy died in BC a few weeks ago. 'Tis sad. |

I'm starting to wonder if a can of compressed air is ever used solely for it's intended purpose. Sure, we all buy it to clean our dusty computers and whatnot, but then we end up just playing with the stuff until the can is gone. Good intentions, just bad follow-through.
By the way, I sprayed that stuff on an apple one time, in about half and hour the whole side had turned that nasty turd-brown color. It's some rough stuff...still fun to play with though.

I've heard that putting duct tape on a wart (for about three months) will kill warts. |

i would think having a wart would be better than walking around with a piece of duct tape on my face for 3 months.
not to mention pulling off the tape. owie. |

More fun with cans of compressed air. If you have an old 35mm plastic film can (Fuji works best) sitting around. Shake up your can of air. Spray it into the the can (sometimes it works better to hold the spray upside down while spraying). Put the cap on and sit it next to (not too close) to an unsuspecting victim and in a few seconds *kapow*. We used to do this at work all the time, then we got a memo banning film cannisters at work. Make sure the lid will pop off farily easily, but is air tight.
Please don't blame me if you wife/girlfriend/co-worker/husband/brother/sister/nephew/aunt/uncle/total stranger etc... does not find this amusing.
Edit for clarity

Lol.
My Son (6) came back from kindergarten and started doing this by mixing a little vinegar and baking powder in the film canister, shaking it and setting it down. But that air idea sounds good. I have a can of it on my desk right now, where is a film canister when you need one. Damn digital! |

The best ones are the kids whose friends tell them to try inhaling butane... their lungs freeze solid before they hit the ground.

| Must be a guy thing, I just don't see the appeal in freezing off your skin, lol. And to think I only used the stuff to blow out my keyboard or my sons xbox. How square am I. |

I use the stuff every day in my job as a field service engineer... take a look at the label the next time you've got a can in your hands, and you'll notice it's not merely 'compressed air'. Most of them use either HCFCs or HFCs, depending upon the manufacturer and their level of environmental responsibility since some of these compounds are ozone depleting. Even the non-depleting 'canned air' dusters use (generally) either difluoroethane (flammable) or tetrafluoroethane (non-flammable). Definitely not stuff you want to intentionally spray on your skin or inhale into your lungs, or really mess around with to any extent.
Just my $.02 on the subject |
