Dose anyone have the lowdown on spot metering, or any links to sites that go into detail on the subject of spot metering. I am finding myself lost in the subject all together.
Thanks
Matt

Spot metering is an essential tool of creative lighting, if you use a meter such as the Sekonic L358 it comes with a metering lens and the more expensive L558 as a Spot metering view finder, if you do not own a meter and wish to do it "in camera" you'll need to use "the force" a little.
The idea of spot metering is to take a reading of a very small part of the scene and compare the lighter and darker readings with the intent of finding an average that will both reveal the scene and leave the shadows interesting. |
