Just seeing if my edit looks natural. Also for any ideas on further editing I would greatly appreciate it.

I am thinking of a sepia or b&w maybe with some "filter lightning" onto the tree or trees.

I think I would have to put some clouds or make the sky portion darker.

I tried your second edit and adjusting the shadow/highlight to make the bottom a little less hazy. If you dont like the bottom that dark, you might also want to play with it just to see some 'invisible stuff' that showed up in the picture, which is mostly really light tones that only showed up after a considerable darkening of the hightlights.

As far as the edit, I think the rock/tree go together well but the transition to the basically white sky is kindof weird.

shot really lacks a definite subject. the sky is just flat white...if u have any sky detail in the pic do your best to bring it out.

Made a sky for it too...once all of the almost-white background stuff was out of the picture it was pretty easy to select just the background and cut it out. I pasted in a sky layer (google image search "sky") and set the white cut-out to 10% opacity for a little more blend. I had to make a black layer to go into the trees and get out a little bit of the white but it wasnt too tricky.

I think it'd look really good with a cool sunset picture too, setting right behind the rocks :)

Yeah that is the problem their was no sky. Nothing at all. I had 3 shots of the same thing and nothing....was like a egg shell behind it. At the time I was 300 feet up a cliff so really couldnt check and see what was going on with the shots.

Thats why I was going to add some artifical lightning to it. I have some sunset pictures...and may just end up making something.

It definately will keep me busy.
