I've had lots of nice feedback on this photo, but the redish cast to it always bothered me a bit...especially when I made a print. So I worked on it a bit today. Here are the before and after shots. Is it an improvement or not?

definately.

I personally like it better with the red tint. More emotion. The sky also seems overly fake blue in the after shot and grabs my attention away from the rest of the scene.

Nice photo, I think I like the before. The blue sky seems a little unnatural.

i dunno, the blueness of the sky doesn't seem to go well with the picture to me

The blue sky has to go. The sky was fine int he original. The rest of the changes are a significant improvement. Keep them.

Well I'm confused. Are the two images transposed? The "BEFORE" photo (with the gray sky) was uploaded today and has 20 or so views. The "AFTER" was uploaded Feb. 18, has tons of views, and 2 favs.

Thanks! I will work on the sky. It should be easy to make that adjustment.

Personally I like the first one better. The darker colors in the trees make it all fit together a lot better. I think...

I most certainly like the after picture, subtle difference but definetly better.

I took the liberty of downloading the image to do a test.

I have emailed it to you.

Basically my suggestion is as follows (Photoshop).

Image adjustment, Hue/Saturation, Select only the red channel. Alter the Hue to +15.

That way the sky is unaffected and the red is reduced maintaining the image impact.

Hope you like the suggestion.

I like the after pic.

I like the first over the second.

The colours pop more for me in the second.

The horizon seems ever so slightly tilted to the left.

How's this?

I changed the file for that photo...so it had the new photo but retained all the other information. Then I uploaded the original to use in the post for comparison.

The colours are much more vibrant however the glow in the fog seems a bit much.

There should, IMO, be NO blue int he sky; in this misty scene it seems unrealistic and I see no reason for it to be there anyway. Neutralize it.
