I took these last week in the morning. I did not crop the photos. Only slight adjustment to levels. Any help would be appreciated.

Just trying to see if anyone would comment on my cloud photos or see if anyone could give suggestions on the best way to take pics of clouds/ sky.

thanks

I love cloud shots. I think these are pretty, but not "wow". Maybe a little editing would liven them up a little bit. Perhaps a little contrast would bring out the rays some more? I would play with it and see what you can come up with.

They do lack punch. Since you've got some nice crepuscular rays, you have some potential for real drama there. Try curves, selecting a light and dark point with the appropriate "droppers" and then play with the curve.

I will try that thanks.

One of the best "easy" improvements to sky/cloud shots is by using a circular polarizing filter when you shoot. The difference is dramatic.

Two words. Polarizing Filter. You would be astounded the difference it makes.

Thanks for the advice. I'll try the filter out next time we get some nice clouds.

I really look for sunbeam shots. Curves might help these, especially if you aren't concerned about whether it looks the way it "really was" or want it to look good.

I seem to get the best results shooting with -0.5 to -1 exposure compensation and metering on the brightest part -- helps to hold the detail -- then adjust with curves later. I've also started using some (moderate) noise-reduction to smooth out the skies.

I have a lot of examples (without N-R) in my portfolio:
