Has anyone tried these lens!!! they seem really cheap for some great ranges they have...
They don't seem really great but has anyone tried them out?

They are roughly the same as Canon 'L' glass, this is if you are the kinda guy that considers stagnent water and champagne to be one of the same ;)

I personally haven't tried them out, but I don't remember hearing any good comments about them. I think it's b/c most are expecting L lens performance out of a $100-300 range lenses. Personally if you stay within the limits of the lens, it will work ok.
There is an article about the Vivitar 100-300 lens at Popular Photography, praising it (I think Vivitar and Phoenix are from the same maker).

My personal feeling is that it may be better to wait and save up for a nicer lens.
