Anybody have any experience in taking a video clip and editing frame by frame using a filmstrip in Photoshop? I'm experimenting with this by making light saber effects for a school movie, also 'digitally grading' so the footage so it looks neat. :-)

Best of luck with the tedious process. Haven't done it myself, but I've watched a few editors work at it.

A while back I was looking at getting into motion graphics and ran accross a program called Commotion that helps automate the rotoscoping process.

The software was designed by an original member of the Photoshop programmers if I remember right.

If you plan on doing a lot you might want to check it out.
