Sixty bucks is a pretty darn good price for this Gretag MacBeth Eye-one Display 1 although I have not used this unit the reading that I have done place this as better than the Original Spyder that I am using.

I wonder if this is old stock that they are trying to get rid of? notice that the software version supplied is v 2.0, but it requres an upgrade to 3.0 to do laptop displays. I'm betting the upgrade is not free.

Wow. Screamin' deal! That is the calibration unit I have (and I paid a lot more than $60!)

The upgraded Eye-One Match 3.2a software can be downloaded for free from here; it is fully compatible with the older Eye One Display. (I can personally confirm this since I own said older Eye One Display and just installed 3.2 not too long ago.)

BTW, personally I think the original Eye One Display does a very good job with monitor calibrations. The newer "2" version has an improved sensor (for faster profiling) and a translucent snap-on filter that allows it to measure ambient light levels which can help in creating "ideal" display conditions, but at $60, I'd be pretty tempted...

Thanks for the heads-up Eddy! If the new software can be had for free, that is one heckuva deal.
