I have a friend going to Japan for a while, and he asked if I needed anything over there. Is camera equipment cheaper over there? I am specifically interested in a 20D or L glass. He said the exchange rate is currently about 100yen to US dollar.

Oh, and would the 20D menus be in Japanese?

I've heard it's actually more expensive. Things that are much cheaper than here include... Zeiss/Leica glass, discontinued Canon lenses (ie my 80-200L 2.8 plus others like 200L 1.8, 100-300L 5.6)
