| says no post processing - yet ive seen many entries that look heavily post processed..... |

it depends what challenge you are looking at .. there are 2 ..
basic
and
advanced editing

none of the challenges say "no post processing." the basic just has stricter post-processing rules than the advanced editing challenges.
post processing is a vital part of any photography, really -- digital or otherwise. |

There are NO challenges that say "no post processing" currently being voted on, and in fact there very rarely are. "Basic" editing challenges severely limit the tools you can use, but there is still post processing.

| ok, i meant as in post-editing that substantially changes the impact of an image - thought it was just a general no-no reading the rules :) |

If you're referring to the fantasy challenge, it's not surprising that there's a lot of extreme PP in that challenge. Few challenges would have topics so forgiving of these alternative approaches.
