I have searched the manual and a book I bought and can't seem to find an answer. Unless of course it's NO
Is it possible to shoot black and white with my D70? |

Wow bummer. What if I want to post a pic in a challenge would that constitute illegal editing if I remove the color? |

The cool thing about the kit is that it comes with the Nikon Editor software. Simply edit in Nikon Editor, pull down the effects option on the Tools feature (View Tools) and select Black and White or Sepia. ;-)

Not if it is applied to the entire image and you don't use any illegal layers. There are numerous ways you can convert to B&W or sepia without violating the rules.

Its ok as a filter and as a grad map since a grad map is an adjustment layer. |

The Nikon Editor selection is legal in all challenges, however if you have PS, the channel mixer is the better choice.

Thanks for the help. Don't have Nikon Editor. Bought it used with 5 shots on the camera. Was a little too adavanced for the first owner. Lucky me paid $350 with a Tamron 28-200 AF lens and a Gig card. |

One more rookie question and I won't bother you for a couple days...
If I change the f-stop ring on my lens I get an error of FEE and can't shoot. Can anybody explain? Thanks |

I believe that if you're shooting in Auto mode, you need to have the f-stop ring set to it's highest number and locked there or you get that error...
Not sure if you're using P/A/S/M setting if that applies or not...
