when people do macros they always stack a 50mm 1.8 reverses on thier lens, well why is it always 50mm 1.8 and not a 50 1.4 or something else?

| I like reversing zoom lenses. When reversed, zoom ring acting like the focus ring makes things a bit easier. |

Works a lot better if you have the lens reversed directly on the body. 50mm gives you about 1:1 and 24mm about 2:1.
