Here is another picture from my KC Trip. This has only been resized and some USM applied. What type of editing should I do and what kind of a crop if any.

Take the USM wayyyy down on this one. Look along the neck of the brown goose and you can see how there is a white outline between the neck and the grass - this is one of the telltale signs that you have over-USM'd an image.

Other than that you might want to burn the white goose a little just to get a little bit more detail into its brest.

You think that I over did the USM? That is good to know. I only did it at .9 radius and 7% strength. I am trying to learn and that is very helpfull knowing that I need to do less USM.

Does anyone else have some suggestions on this picture. I am trying to bump this to see if there are any more suggestions on what I can do to make this picture work.

To be honest the composition is a little static with lots of negative space that doesnt really add much. I also dont feel like there is much of an interesting focal point. If the image is big enough you could maybe crop out of the geese but there looks like some overexposed areas on both birds. There is nothing linking this to a visit to KC other than your memory of the moment so I'd be tempted to just go out and find more geese and play around with the subject and exposure more.
