I just wanted to get some opinions or other suggestions before i decide to make the purchase. This is what i have found thus far on my search. Anyone out there have this already? Likes? Dislikes(besides nikon not making their own)? Any other products that are around the same price?

Besides the Harbortronics grip, there's now also the Hoodman grip here. I don't have any experience with either, but they're discussed in several forums (like on dpreview). At first glance, what I don't like about it is that the function of the release button is a bit different from the 'real' one: no possibility for half-pressing to focus, because the grip works through the IR-remote.

would that be the same maker of Jenis? Looks almost exactly like it. Going through a few boards the other night. They don't look to promising now. More complaints than praise for making the product. But like most of them said the D70 is an entry model DSLR and wasn't built with much expandability.

Thanks for the link nicoledb.

for my klutzy self, i predict nothing but doom and disaster with those 3rd party grips. i can totally see myself yanking the shutter cable out accidentally.

while a vertical grip would be nice to have, i personally see no need for that much battery power for what i do. that, combined with the fact that it just seems kind of "janky" leaves me little to be excited about.

if you DO take the plunge, however, i would be very interested in hearing your experience.
