How does one change the parameters on the Canon D20 to be the same as the Rebel 300D?

I don't know... but I also don't understand why you would want to?

i imagine it would depend on what parameter settings from the 300d you are trying to mimic...

shoot with all the settings at zero, and shoot in RAW...

Don't forget to hit it with a hammer a few times too.

There was a thread yesterday or the day before that a thumb/link to a chart from the Canon site that shows how the various settings on their different models line up. From memory I'd say that the default on 300D would equal one step above the default on 20D, but I'm not positive. Can anyone find the chart I'm thinking of?

Tha's the one, Thanks Andy.

My memory was faulty. According to the chart the Rebel and the 20D are the same in regards to parameters.

Ahhh, but you need to be more specific. The rebel has a default setting and other settings, and then of course you can make custom settings...

Parameter 1 is default :
Contrast, sharpness and color sat are all +1.
Parameter 2 everything is set to 0.

Thanks for help. My friend Jack asked me to help him to set his D20 the way he could take snapshots ready to print or for on screen sideshow like his wife Ella produces from her 300D with the default setting. Everything started after 3 of us reviewed pictures we took on our recent trip. Ella and Jack compared their pictures straight from cameras, and her pictures were nicer to look at. I explained to Jack that his pictures are as good or better then Ella's but they need a touch of processing. Personally I never share unprocessed pictures and I enjoy playing with my photos in PS before showing them, but Jack doesn't want to spend extra time for pictures he thinks are just snapshots, and this is why I asked the original question.

soup: I am thinking about starting to shoot with RAW, but it is difficult to change the habit and enter new area you don't know well. I had a similar problem with switching from “Picture It” to PS cs. Now I cannot believe that I had PS for almost 6m and I didn’t use it for so long .

riot: Please explain your technique. Did you have to hit your head first to have better results?
