If it has more than 1.4MP it does! LOL

Congrtas on upgrade, even though the Nikon group would say otherwise!

I found it such a pleasure to get back to SLR. My sony had an EVF so I was used to holding the camera to my eye.
I find it funny now when I give my camera to other people to take a picture, 90% hold it at arms length in front of them, and ask "How do I turn it on?".
When you get it, make sure it has a serial number. Mine didn't, I had to get it swapped.

Congratulations........I'll caution you to watch out for the dreaded "lens fever" that strikes shortly after acquiring a DSLR. The symtoms include this dire need to acquire a new lens, no matter how many you currently have, and the fever has a long term complication : an empty wallet. :) Have fun !

I never let others touch the camera. Just too much time and money invested it in. Quite territorial about the whole thing. Just about the only I haven't done is to pee on it to mark it as mine

I don't get worked up at all about possessions. I look after my stuff, but give it heaps. If there is a good shot to get in the rain, I will get my camera out & risk a few spots on it. If it can't hack it, then it's not worth the money I paid for it. Sure I get a bit scared, like when I gave it to a friend skiing one day & he boogied off with it in one hand without putting the strap on, but he didn't drop it, and I got some good pictures of myself from it.

letting someone use the camera is fine, but the moment they say `how do you turn it on?` i'm snatching it right back!!!!!!!!! :)

I love how Nikon and Canon people bicker over being #2.

And yes, I know I own a 4500 and love it. But the next camera to go in the bag is the ist DS, it'll look great next to all those incredibly sharp Pentax lenses from my 35mm days.

Enjoy the XT, I just had a friend buy one and she loves it- she won't share it though. I thought she was going to karate chop a guy the other night that offered to take our picture.
