EDIT: Title is supposed to say "GOT A NEW TOY...." LOL typed too fast and didn't catch it.

My new tripod and ballhead arrived yesterday. This is my first "real" tripod, and after getting by with cheap aluminum models I am blown away at the quality and the stability of my new gear...

- Gitzo 1228 Mk2 Mountaineer Reporter Tripod
- Kirk BH-3 Ballhead

I also picked up a hotshoe bubble level and an L bracket for my 20D (w/battery grip) to enable vertical portrait mounting on the ballhead.

I had never played with a "professional" tripod setup before investing in this setup, and I can say after having a chance to use it... i'll never go back to my shaky aluminum POS I called a tripod. Shooting with this setup is great. The KIRK ballhead is built like a tank, I highly recommend it.

Can't wait to put it to use on some trips.
