i have the tamron 28-300 xr di aspherical ld etc etc etc
its not the lens you are looking at, but it IS a fantastic lens, so i can only assume the 2.8 is going to be a dream to use, especially at that aperture!!! :-)
now... if only i h ad 2.8 on this 28-300! :( |

Well, let me be the first then. I'm not very happy with this lens.
It is good for portraits, preferably mounted on a tripod and when you are able to focus carefully.
I was hoping to use it for more "event" type photography, but when I do way to many shots come out out of focus. I've used the Nikon Kit lens and a Sigma 70-200 f2.8 (both of these have focus motor in the lens) for similar occations and have always more than 90% success rate (focus wise), so I'm pretty sure it is the lens that is the problem. |
