Here's the outtake for "Naturally Framed" that I had in the challenge until the last day.
Here's the entry I went with.. thinking, foolishly, that it was a stronger connection to the challenge.. what with all that natural stuff in there.. leaves, and wood, and sun, and rocks, and water..
HAH.. I, of course, in my mad rush to "meet" the challenge, forgot to actually include a strong subject within my natural frame. (according to a few of the commenters). I should have had a paper boat floating down the creek I guess. lol
Ah well.. I do this all the time.. switch out an entry that probably would have done quite well for one that only does mediocre at best.
I'm doomed!

I hate to say it, and I usually don't have any input for these sort of threads.. but wow, what a difference! The first picture is truly great.

I share your pain Glen. I did same/similar and tried to find the "Natural" framing, not man-made framing. Oh well. |

I think you "subconsciously" had the word "Naturally" on your mind when you decided to to submit the first and submit the second. I think you were worried whether voters would see it as a "Naturally" framed picture. Now thats my opinion. :)
One reason I don't think people should start threads about "what is, whats not, will meat a challenge" because it makes some pull a great picture because of what I call vote confusion. Now this particular incident may hot have anything to do with that but I believe if you would of left #1 in, it would of had a chance at #1. Just my 2 cents worth that is only worth 1 by the time I get through rambling.

Glen, if it helps you at all (which I doubt), I didn't enter a picture into naturally framed. I was afraid that if I entered that same view with some sunset or something, that you might actually nuke that darn beach, lol.
