I use my lcd screen..and both eyes

I often use this technique when trying to shoot bird photos -- there was a hummingbnird which would always return to the same twig. I'd keep it aimed with my right eye while watching for the bird's approach with my left (the wide-angle view). It works for other action/panning situations as well.


I do exactly the same.

Both. Right eye for viewfinder and left to scan the surroundings.
