I caught extreme terror on my three year old's face yesterday...

... when she thought her mommy was going to feed her to an orca whale!

LOL, well, actually Mr. Smartypants, if you look at the water-line along the orca you'll see it's level. That is the true level. The water-line along the back of the pool gives an apparent horizon, which is not true because the pool has an odd shape. That's my excuse & I'm sticking with it!

I think it's an illusion. If you look at the water line on the whale it seems level at least it did when I copied and pasted it in PS and pulled the ruler line to it. Also the vertical lines on the pool in the bottom right corner lines up vertically as well as the three in the background. I think the pool is not square, maybe round or octagon making the horizon look unlevel.

Sorry to be such a party spoiler to all those real funny jokes here, but this is how you cause a kid to hate and be terrified of animals.
Makes me real sad.

Your post almost makes it sound like youa ssumed they told her they were going to feed her to the whale or something... nowhere to do I get that impression!

Yeah calm down...I don't think they held her there for five minutes. I would assume that once she started screaming like that, her mother pulled her away. If she held her there, then yes, I'd agree with you.

Looks titled to me, but not real badly. I blew it up x5 and put a grid over it. Both the water line at the edge of the pool and the waterline along the orca's body tilt some toward the left.

Is she screaming with terror or with delight?

Oh my, she's the one that asked me to shell out the $9 so she could feed the whale. She waited in line. She changed her mind when mom lifted her up & she saw the whale up close. Mom put her down. We all laughed.

Of course, we tormented the children more later on wehn we took them into the deer petting zoo!

Reminds me of taking young ones to see Santa Claus. They just have to go... right up until it's time to sit on Santa's lap! *laughs*

Are you sure it's the photo that is tilted? I say it is the photographer that is a little off. :-D

I got photos of my six year old aborting her whale petting mission as well. I spent $18 on top of the entrance fee to give my kids a life experience and they both chickened out, LOL. And you know what? Minutes later we were at the beluga pool and they were asking me to get them tickets to pet the beluga, so they weren't too traumatized.

We spent a little extra to get season's passes, so we'll be back plenty this summer, so maybe they'll warm up to the idea of petting and feeding an orca whale. Next time it's my turn though!
