I usually just keep my eye on the "Out and About" section of the forums. Arie has a calendar put up with some planned outings. But we usually try to get together at least once a month. |

I checked out your zoo pictures Yido. Nice animal portraits. Really like the apes with the atmosphere of mist/smoke/?
I was going to try and catch up to you folks when my trip to Sequoia was cancelled. But I was thinking it was Sunday for some reason. Oh well, next time.

Rod, sorry to hear about you missing us.
Thanks for the comments on the "Chimps in the Mist" pics. So far two positive comments on them. It is mist spray and not smoke in case anyone was wondering. I guess the zoo sprays it to keep the area cool.
Look under the Out and About Section, I'm going to shoot Sidewalk Art Faire on the 6/25 and 6/26 and when my buddy gets here on July, we will be shooting four days straight.
Maybe we'll see you then.

There's no email list, but you could always check the Out & About section, then do a "Watch" or "Email" selection in the drop down so that you can keep an eye on the thread! Nice to see more people interested!!!

Hey everyone! Sorry about the end of the day on Saturday. I guess I was just a bit cranky from being hungry and tired so sorry about that. Anywho, my cable connection at home is dead and not sure when I can get someone to take care of it. During the week is no good for me and this weekend is super busy. I might be without Internet at home for two weeks! ACK! At least I can check on things here at work. I haven't done any processing of my Zoo photos as I was out all day yesterday and too tired to look at them when I got home. Anywho, I had a great time taking pictures and actually being able to see stuff upclose vs using my 24-70. :)

Greg, it is okay if you had to leave early.
Everyone gets cranky once in a while.
Post your pics whenever they are available.
I'd love to get comments from everyone on my pics on smugmug.
So far, three of three commentors liked the "chimps in the mist" pics.
I like the first shot of the white flamingo with the one eye in the center of the shot.

I thought I'd just add some photos from the zoo and some others that I've had the pleasure of working on during the week after work. I also put in the redone version of "The French Man". Enjoy!
Tom's lazyness has spread.. I didn't feel like updating all the threads so I just threw them all here..
And you will turn to the vest side Tom.. you can't resist.. its just so handy.. :)

Raul,
Looks good. The French Man is a lot better. I'd also dodge the eyes of the two monkeys as well. The hippo one is nice. I don't think I paid them much as attention. Maybe I should have. My propeller shot came out much more noisy. Did you reduce the noise on that?

Well I did dodge them quite a bit but I can try a technique and see if it doesn't look that bad.. Ya but you got the Red Tail Hawk.. so it evens out.. with the propeller shot I used the kit lens ISO 400 F3.5 1.3sec shutter and changed WB to incondcent i believe.. but straight out of the camera.

OK, Tom... You're going to kill me, but I had never copied it from my CF Card to my hard drive... I had only worked on a few select images fromt that trip. I lost all the photos except the few when I reformatted the CF card before my daughter's graduation. Sorry about that.

I'll send you mind when I get home today Tom. I was going to send it yesterday but I had plans with some friends but didn't plan to get home at 1:30am (0.0). Now I'm at work feeling like one of the people from "Shawn of the dead" :).
