I live on Staten Island which is part of NYC and my friends are always amazed when i tell them how much I love going to the beach there, they always have the mental image that it is some refuse dump (It actually was a few decades ago, but thats besides the point). Here are two photos I took last week near the beach when I was home.

They're just average, nothing bad or awesome about them. I like the composition in the second one more, nice colors too.

Surely isn't a refuse dump. But, IMO, these pictures lack the interest that some of your other pictures have. Of the two - I like the portrait layout much better. I think it is the completeness (is that a word) of the bottom of the boats. I just dont like the landscaped picture. In both pictures the sky is interesting as well. |

Did I make the image more interesting? Or just make an average photo worse? Thanks!
