I have the opportunity to get a few shot at my 10 months old son last swimming lessons this tuesday and I really don't know how to get the best shot out in these conditions. I usually work on tuesday so this is the only chance I'll get. I have the 350D with the Sigma EF 500 DG super flash, the sigma 18-50 f/3.5-5.6 and the Sigma 70-300 f/4.0-5.6. I plan to use the 70-300 but I need advice for shooting techniques. It's an indoor pool in a college. Thanks for any advice.

Most likely you'll have to wait and see what the lighting conditions are.
Some indoor pools have sky lights, artificial lights, or even open roofs.
Remember water reflects so you may want a UV or other filter.

A polarizing filter would probably help though to keep your shutter speeds at a point for handheld you may want to try without. The 70-300 is pretty slow expecially at the 300 end so you'll probably have to boost the ISO.
Shoot RAW so you don't have to worry about white balance or use a custom WB if you are going to shoot jpg. The lighting is usually mixed and may not match any of the presets on the camera.

70-300 wont do u much good if you're gonna use a flash, most flashes wont reach that far. I'd try to do without the flash though if you can since water is reflective
