After submitting I felt the subject [Cardinal Red Bird] was to small and lacked detail to make an impact on the photograph. Taken at 200mm. But I also had some hesitation because it was a sort of minimalism subject and was the focal point. What do you think? Should I have held on to it or did I make the right decision to pull? BTW no saturation done at all on the cardinal or photograph.

tho it is a very nice photo i think u made the right choice to pull it. the bird is just too small( kinda have to look for it)if it had been closer to the bird with all that in the background i would say keep it in. good luck on what ever u choose to enter...hope to see ya at the top!

That's exactly what I was thinking. I was about 100 yards away when I took the picture.

Shot this today while experimenting with my Coolpix 4500 attached to my 400mm refracting telescope via eyepiece projection. This mallard was approx 60 feet away and this is an uncropped photo. Not bad!

Now if I can just get some Cardinals or something pretty and colorful to stand still.

Here's two outtakes that I took this week, my final entry is very different from these, but I'm still wondering if they would have scored well... ?

Hey guys...

I live the excitement (and the photos), but can we hold off on the outtakes until the submission period has ended?

If someone submitted an entry very similar to any of these outtakes, it might end up hurting them in the voting -- so those users might feel compelled to withdraw or change those entries as a result of this thread.

Thanks! :-)

Sorry, it's my fault, I should of named the thread differently. I was wanting to get others opinion on whether I had done the right thing by removing it. I don't have anyone to share the photo with like some to get an opinion so I made the decision to un-submit it and see if people thought I made the right decision.

Apologies to all.

Thank you so much.

No problem... and since this thread is pretty much useless until the submission period ends I'm going to go ahead and lock it.

If I forget to unlock it, PM me or feel free to start a new one.
