Sometimes sight & sound come together and it suddenly reaches inside your soul and grabs hold - hard!

While admiring a shot here tonight (for the dozenth time at least), a song came up in queue in my mp3 player
and suddenly that image took on a whole new emotive level, and can't even begin to describe it in words.

Find a copy of Evanescence's "Hello"
(3:40 long) and in a quiet, peaceful
time & place, play it while looking at

I don't think you will come away unmoved.

Edit to add:
I uploaded my mp3 file to my shop's website in case anyone
wants to listen to it.
(Link removed to prevent crossing the piracy line)

GULP is right...not sure if i'm embarresed or just totally honoured......i really don't think my photos are anything like you guys here, mine are just plain 'nice' images seen through my eyes, which do or don't 'grab' the viewer, unitl this i thought mostly 'don't'...lol..i find i tell more of a story than a photo, and thanks to you bradp i realised today that that is O.K.... i have been trying to get the more' surreal' images that appeal to the majority, but i think i'll stick to my 'series's'....

brapp i posted this under your comment on 'Trapped' :
OMGosh bradp.. you have no idea how you have made me feel today... FANTASTIC.. all this coming from someone i have been admiring since joining DPC... wow, but i really am no where near most of you here, that i s why i have come here, i really need to learn, i had no idea until recently how to work Photoshop, you guy's here have helped me with that too, i have a lot to learn but i will get there, and hopefully be posting images with the quailty on DPC. thanks again matey... YOU ROCK....!!!!

Kelly, I just browsed through the galleries on your website and every photo blew me away. You have a gift and you are highly talented at what you do. I could go on and on about your work!
It is truly inspirational!

OH MY.... sniff sniff... that is so emotional... especially from my end as they are my daughter's eyes i am starring at while the song is playing.... i so wish you guy's could see the photo in real life as the blowout in the hand doesn't show up anywhere like it does here, and the detail in her face really stares back at you.....oh well, SOMEONE give me a job and i'll travel to america and bring it with me.....lol....
thanks again my new 'best friend'..... kekek
kel
and thanks so much niko and lisa...
CHEERS...!

Can't agree more. I left a note in Kelly's guest book a couple days ago when I stumbled onto her site and looked through the gallery. I was blown away. That shot in particular has those haunting qualities of the old antique portraits. You capture the eyes better than most I have seen.

The song is cool, too, Brad - does add to the experience. Thanks for posting it and giving Kelly the recognition she deserves.

Great catch Brad, and the song goes even better looking at Kelly's Kid's Gallery.

I stumbled across 'Trapped' last night as well.....

It's a haunting & wonderful photo.

You may feel you have much to learn from this site, but many of us will be richer for the experience of seeing your work.

You are indeed telling stories with your pictures, which is something gifted rather than learnt. I would like add my humble voice to those thanking you for sharing that gift.

Cheers, Chris H.

Kelly, there is only one single thing missing in your work that others are a little better at. Just one single thing. That's confidence in the quality and appeal of the images on the part of the photographer who has created them. Your images are terrific and you have an immense talent. Your portraits in particular are technically accomplished, emotionally moving and unusual to boot.

I saw the full-size exhibition print of this image today when I visited the Art Gallery of New South Wales. It is the most arresting portrait in the exhibition, and one of the few on display that repays a few minutes contemplation. A very emotional experience, or is that emotive?. Either way, it's a real artistic accomplishment & is only enhanced by BradP's beautiful soundtrack on this forum thread. Well done, both of you.

You're not wrong. A quick glance at your website tells me straight away that you're in a league of your own. Way beyond what most people here are doing!

People! You MUST click on Kelly's profile and follow the link to her website! Her work is brilliant. And no, I'm not overstating the case.

And Kelly, I am dumbfounded that you said you need a job! I think that your photography will eventually make a very comfortable living for you. IMO, very wealthy clients should be paying a lot of money for you to take candid portraits of their children! Best of luck to you, and thanks for those incredible photos.

THANK YOU all so much, you have given me so much confidence today that i upoaded anther 20 or so photos on my site just now... they are old and way before i knew about file sizing, so i have ruined some of them in the process, but they are still o.k to view... i still have about 100 previous photos that i will upload over time.....
THANKS AGAIN..... long live Brad P........!!!!! thanks matey...

As noted, I have removed the mp3 link in the original post, as it does technically cross the line of piracy.
I only wanted to share a song with a few friends here and assumed it would have been for personal use only.
I figured I paid for it and should be able to share it, but was made aware it was not the case.
Hope the line with DPC's Terms of Service wasn't crossed either.

That's a great picture...but I can't friggin stand Evanescence. They're the N'sync of 'rock'.

Luckily I'm in Canada, where file sharing is still legal.
